I just got told to start using NetBackup to backup my two Oracle 10g RAC databases. I have a Recovery Catalog setup already for my backups. What I cannot seem to find anywhere is a basic flow diagram for the Netbackup process. The questions I have are this......
The storage area for NetBackup will be a SAN.
1.) Do I run Archive logging to the Flash or to the SAN directly using the Vertias agent? Is this even possible.
2.) Same question for the data backups.
3.) Do the Archive logs and backups go to flash then RMAN from the Recovery Catalog backup of the Flash to the SAN.
4.) Am I using the Oracle Media Manager using the Vertias/NetBackup as 3rd party?
