Status 6 points to an issue with the the script.

Troubleshooting must start with checking the actual script and the script output.

There seems to be another RMAN log file:

Check '2015-08-27-120624'  rman logs file  /data/ora/FEPA/admin/rman/logs

Can you please check and confirm?

Are you using files per set in the rman archive backup script ?

To me the error sounds like rman is trying to backup too many archive files at once.

Besides the rman log, the Oracle alert log often contains indications of what problem is.

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue

1 - has this worked before?

2 - if so, what has changed?

error 6 is a generic response, you always have to review the oracle logs.

Based on the error, you can review the policy to ensure the storage works.

If it is a new script, review the .sh and .rcv files, since 99% of the time, there is a typo, or a missplaced variable.

Thanks all for your valuable suggestion.,

Issue was with rman backup script - Its a customized script - one of the script function is missing., Oracle team copied & pasted the backup script from the working server & it went successful

Think I was first : "Status 6 points to an issue with the the script. Troubleshooting must start with checking the actual script and the script output."
