Hi,

I need to restore a oracle database using SAN transport but I everytime I try is goes automatically through LAN, the redirected restore client is already zoning to my 5230 appliance.

The backups of source client and redirected restore client works well using SAN, the problem is with restorations.

Am I missing something??

Couple of questions:

1)  is your AIX version and HBAs a supported target for SAN connection in Netbackup ?

2) does you AIX machine have HBAs configured as targets, not iniators ? (Been a while so might be wrong here)

3) if yes to 1) & 2) can you restore a file through the SAN connection to your AIX machine.

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue

Hi,

Kindly confirm the SAN Client Fibre Transport Service (nbftclnt) is running on client.

To enable it on UNIX and Linux:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -sanclient 1

To enable it on Windows:

install_path\NetBackup\bin\bpclntcmd.exe -sanclient

Please refer the article to configure the FT Media server and SAN client.
