Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to make a bare metal restore of an older backup?

Let's suppose that:

in day d : i made a full backup

in day d-1: i made a full backup (yesturday)

in day d-2: i made a full backup (before yesturday)

Is it possible to go back my server to day d-2 by a bare metal restore?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Yes it is possible, if you have valid backup image with BMR enabled.

This need some extra steps. The current client configuration reference to latest backup.

If we right click on current client configuration and start prepare to restore it will restore the system from latest backup.

How to create Point-In-Time (PIT) configuration.

Bare Metal Restore Clients -> XYZClient ->Current -> RightClick ->New client Configuration -> New configuration name e.g "XYZ_PIT" -> Select 'Retrive a Point in Time Congfiguration'
Select policy used to take BMR backup of that client from drop down list -> Select the End date 'Select the backup date' -> Click OK.

Note: In BMR backup It always create two or more than two backup id. Always select the image date time have C:\ drive backup to create PIT configuration. Applicable for Windows only.

It will create one read-only configuration. If want to do any edit in that configuration then Make another copy of that newly create configuration.
