Hello, I´m trying to perform a Oracle offline backup using the wizard and options put the database down and up. When I run the template from client .. the application job runs status 0, fine. When I try to execute the policy manually, the automatic backup starts and keep connectin state. no error, I have to manually stop it. Any Idea?

Creating the template the user ROOT must be selected or NETBACKUP will not be able off accessing,

I´ve let the user BACKUP at the template creation.

Editing the template at the LAST PANEL let root as user.

You can also run an Automatic Backup schedule manually using the NetBackup

Administration Console. For information about performing manual backups of

schedules, see the NetBackup Administrators Guide, Volume I.

To perform a cold (offline) backup, set the environment variable METHOD in the

bpstart_notify script on the client to SHUTDOWN_BKUP_RESTART. The

bpstart_notify script shuts down the database before the backup begins and

the bpend_notify script restarts the database after the backup completes.

I have made a script manually started using sqlplus shut down immediate and stuff.

database down
bpbackup blabla
database up

that works ok w/out RMAN.

but I have to do it automatically using netbackup/RMAN.

I have set the template. using wizard and ok running from client goes fine... status 0.

my problem is to automatically perform that backup off line using netbackup

I've created an oracle policy calling the same template that works calling from client.

Hello

the backup is running ok when I use client nbjSA, only the application backup starts.. no automatic schedule runs

but running manually from java console the automatic schedulle starts and don't call the application.. keeps in connectin state.. forever.

Need I  to use the bpstart and bpnotify???

I was thinking about some change at the policy.

So.. the job was still connecting.

no error..

I had to cancel it.

I really don't  know why this could be happening.
