The job was successfully completed, but some files may have been
busy or unaccessible. See the problems report or the client's logs for more details.
-----------------------------------------------

As you can see I get this WIN32 1: Unknown error, ERR - failure reading file <database>.nsf

Lotus Domino
Windows 2008 64-bit
8.5.2FP2

and the other have version 8.5.2FP1

But that is not the exact same errormessage that I have in the log and does it adress a 8.5 Domino server (they talk about 6.5 in the tid). Besides sounds a bit scary when they talk about Domino crashing when changing the value.

Any ideas? Not having backup on those nsf-files is really bad and they work 24/7 with the files so taking down Notes during the night and taking backup will be a problem.

What is the Policy type used for the Notes backup?

Is NBU Client Service on the Notes server running with logon account that has sufficient Notes permissions?

Do you have bpbkar log folder on Notes Client? If so, please copy to bpbkar.txt and post as File attachment.

Thank you for the reply.

Policy Type: Lotus-Notes

Service is running with Local System Account (allow service to interact with Desktop is not selected)

Domino service is running with Local System Account (allow service to interact with Desktop is selected)

So both Domino and NBU Client runs with same account, is the allow service to interact with Desktop something that is important?

Searched the computer for bpbkar but couldn't find any. Is there a way to create it and run a backup again to see what the log say?
Read this: (client); Create folder "bpbkar" under <install path>\netbackup\logs

But I don't have the \netbackup\logs folder??

These are the folders I have on the client.

You need to check where NetBackup is installed. PBX is a separate package.

The default install path for NBU is C:\program files\veritas\netbackup. It seems that the Notes client also has a D:\program files folder. Else use the search utility in Windows Explorer.
Please create the bpbkar folder under the netbackup\logs directory. Log file will be created next time the backup runs.

The service logon account seems to be fine.

We will need bpbkar log and Event viewer Application log as well.
The NBU backup process is merely reporting the Windows error. So, the Application log will possibly be the place to find most helpful information.

Looked in the wrong Program Files folder. :)

I post both logs.

From what I could see the application-log didn't say much besides some certificate problem.

But the bpbkar said something about timeout for the nsf listed above from the activity-log??

The sizes of the ones not working for server 2 (max2k3). I reckon if we find the solution on that one we can apply the same solution to server 1.

BBKristinehamn.NSF         4.44 GB
insatserkristinehamn.nsf        20.2 GB
insatserkristinehamn2012.nsf       9.61 GB
LogMaxiMilia20120521.nsf       3.97 GB
RHKristinehamnKopia.NSF      3.29 GB
statrep.nsf      6.25 GB
BBStorfors.NSF     1.16 GB

Other databases seems to be backuped up, at least they don't give any error.

The bpbkar log is reporting loads of errors about DAO objects - between 22:33 and 22:56 and eventually times out at 00:17:

I was looking for information on how to exclude/skip these DAO backup attempts, but have not managed to find anything (yet).

Maybe best to log a Symantec Support call?

Thank you. I will check into the DAO problem.
