Hi,
I am trying to protect SQL 2008 data from a single pass VMware backup.
I can backup the VM with the SQL protection off, I can backup the Databases the traditional way (client - server).
But when I enable the "Enable SQL server recovery" in the VMware policy, the backup fails, it does not even come to the VMware snapshot phase.
The client is installed on the VM with the 7.5.0.3 patches.
The Symantec VSS is installed (server rebooted).
Master en Mediaserver are both virtual.
Firewalls are disabled on Master, Media and client.
Message from the backup:
Status 50: client process aborted
Any help?
Martijn

This has recently been found to be an issue and if you open a support ticket you will get the fix when it is ready.

Thanks for that. To save the customers and their TSEs some time, could you please let everybody know which Etrack the customer should reference when they're opening their support cases for this issue?

Hello All,
We are experiencing very similar issues as e-track been raised has this issue been covered by a planned released 7.5.0.4 ?

I think that you are saying that the NetBackup client has been installed on the client but have you configured the SQL Agent for database connection for each instance (I am guessing that you have but just wanted to check)
Anything in the event logs of the client server of note? Sounds like something is crashing on the client.
Is VMWare tools up to date and the tools.cgf a standard one and not having appquiescedisable in it.
Are you using a query client list that identifies the SQL Server?
Are they Full backups only?
Is Application quiesce enabled?
Have you made sure the exclude data disks is no selected?
Sorry for all the questions but there are a lot of pre-req's with these type of backups - and also ...
Databases cannot be held on mount points, VHD's
Hope something here helps!
