Question - How to determine when users log into NBU console

WayneLackey
Level 5

Is there an access log generated or updated by NBU when a user logs into the NBU console? If no log is generated/updated, is there some way to determine when/which users logs into the NBU console?

Unless you are using Java, there is no 'logon' onto Windows Admin Console.

A user with local admin rights simply opens the GUI installed on a master server or Remote Admin Console.

bprd log on the master server will probably log a connection request from an IP address. No user name.

If you want real auditing, you need to enable NBAC (NetBackup Access Control) combined with auditing.

look in the folders under Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\logs\bpjava-susvc on the Master server

if that directory does not exist, create it so you'll have the logs next time around
