Please tell us more.
How are you starting this restore ?
Have you followed the guide line in the Netbackup Administrative guide
http://www.veritas.com/docs/000004633
See "Attachment" - Chapter 5 or 6.

Verify communications with the master/media
Check
bpclntcmd -self
bpclntcmd -hn "clientname"
bpclntcmd -hn "Master"
bpclntcmd -pn
bpclntcmd -ip "Client IP"
bpclntcmd -ip "Master IP"
Make sure that all of it resolves correctly. If you need to make changes to DNS to get it working remember to run bpclntcmd -clear_host_cache berfore testing the above commands agian.

@Riaan: I have added this server to test backups, file system backups are completed successfully no issues found. please let me know if you want to check anyother still.
@Nicolai: Yes we are fallowing the same as per the recommended by Netbackup and other restores completed successfully with some other servers.

Ensure bp.conf on the Oracle host has the new Netbackup master server at the very top of the server list:
e.g :
Wrong:
SERVER = oldmaster
SERVER = newmaster
OK:
SERVER = newmaster
SERVER = oldmaster

It it very common for FS backups to work and Agent backups to fail. Agent backups rely more heavily on name resolution. especially reverse lookups. PLease make sure that is working.

@Nicolai: We are using only new Master server not usin old master server and backups completed successful on new netbackup master server as well we have changed all bp.conf entries in both the servers client as well restore destination server with new host entries. still its failing.
@Marianne: WE are trying to restore from Destination server itselft not from the Master server, we are even not able to see the Restore job log in Netbackup console, in oracle destination server itself we are facing the above issue, getting error as below

The same was advised by Marianne; it would be justice to mark Marianne's post as solution.

Oracle restores cannot be initiated from the master server. It can only be initiated from the destination client.
Plus alternate client restore must be authorised with altnames files on the master.Please share details of steps that you have followed on the master and on the destination client.
