Hi @EHasani

Can we please start fresh where you tell us more about your environment and the error you are getting?

Which NBU version?
Are you using traditional script-based policy or Intelligent policy?

The error in the original post was :
Error: Failed to query database metadata for <test>

If same/similar error, please ensure that dbclient log folder exists on the SQL client (logging level 3 should be fine).

dbclient log will show the username that is used for the backup and what the access/authentication issue is.

NBU Client Service account needs more than just Administrator priveleges - it also needs SQL dba priveleges.
Always good to start NBU Client services with same logon account as SQL services.

Hi

SUch type of issue generally happen when your account does not have appropriate privileges.

Please try as follows:

Get that user added to BULITINADMIN group on server hosting SQL DB.

Also in SQL provide same user sysadmin privileges.

Then in service.msc, add same account to manage NetBackup Client Service & NetBackup Legacy Network service.

then restart netbackup services and retry your backup.
