Can you please tell me the different reasons\scenarios due to which the drives of the library go down.

I could - but I don't think a list of 30 different scenarios will help you.
What are you trying to archive ?
For debuggin drive down issues you need to understand why - SCSI sende key code are of great help, see:

First thing to do in order to troubleshoot DOWN drives is to add VERBOSE entry to vm.conf on all media servers, followed by restart of NBU Device Management Service.
NBU device errors will be logged to Windows Event Viewer System and Application logs.
The exact reason why drives are being DOWN'ed will be logged in Application log.
If this is related to status 84 in your other post, you need filer system logs and bptm log on the NBU server configured as NDMP media server.
