Hi Community,
We are in the process of upgrading our netbackup linux clients from 8.1.1 to 8.3.0.1. All the rhel 8 servers are running with fips-setup-mode enabled, while our rhel 7 servers are running with fips-setup-mode disabled. We are seeing an issue with having to reboot the rhel 8 servers with the netbackup upgrade where fips-setup-mode is enabled, and the upgrades on the rhel 7 servers where fips-setup-mode is disabled work just fine without having to reboot the server. Just wanted to reach out to the community to see if anyone else has experienced this issue, and if so, how you were able to resolve it, or recommend a work around where we don't have to reboot the server with the upgrade.
Thanks,
GeraldT

Hello,
the question is very specific and its better to raise it on some Linux forum.

Hi @gtown
While I agree with @Michal_Mikulik1 that this may be amore general Linux question, what is stopping the upgrade without the reboot?
Can you disable FIPS for the upgrade - note versions of NetBackup before 9.1 did not have the correct RHEL 8 digest - see this article for more details and possible solutions https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100052834
Cheers
