Hi to all.

I describe our configuration. Netbackup 7.1.0.3 on 2 node windows server 2008 r2 with Veritas Cluster.

Friday morning the active node of cluster was be erased. Netbackup correctly switched to passive node of cluster.

Now we should restore the cluster. We have the backup of the failed node. Is it possible restore the backup on the server or is mandatory reinstall veritas cluster e then netbackup?

Thanks in advance.

Amilcare

Hi Mark. Thanks for your reply. I'm not an expert of Veritas Cluster Server or Storage Foundation. So my question is if is it possibile to make a restore of the entire server via Netbackup. Thanks again. Amilcare

I cannot see an issue with doing such a restore but you would still need to follow some of the process to ensure that the current node was protected first - and that you did not recover any of the shared disk areas which are currently in use by the other node.

It may however be safer to just follow the guide as it is a tried and tested process to recover a lost VCS node
