Redirecting an NDMP restore from one NetApp filer to another NetApp filer

Hi,

We have replaced a NetApp in our datacenter with a newer device in another datacenter and are trying to perform a restore of an old backup to the new device, the tapes have been loaded into the tape library in the same datacenter as the destination NetApp but the job sits at a pending state (NDMP backups on the new NetApp are successful):

The media server mentioned is in the old datacenter, it is not connected to the tape library.

What is the correct way to force NetBackup to use the new NetApp / local media server to perform the restore?

I have read elsewhere on these forums about setting "Media Host Override" and have done this for both the NetBackup Media Server and the NetApp without success.

Does this setting require a services restart or is it automatic?

Many thanks

Hi @Alun

If using the media host override isn't working for you, you could try assigning the media to the appropriate other media server (bpmedia -m <MEDIAID> -newserver <new_ms>).
