In master server's bp.conf:
The result is unpredictable and harmful. this master server can not work as it is.
In media server's bp.conf:
This media server will reject connection from master server. this media server can not work as it is.
In client's bp.conf:
This client will rejet connection from master server. regular file backup works if backup is handles by other media servers, but some sort of advanced functions(BMR, Snapshot or so) may not work. Restore from client also does not work.

its very simple..
your master server will not run...and you can not make it online ...

In WHICH bp.conf - master? media server? client?
Why theoretical questions?
WHY would master server entry be missing from bp.conf?
