Reimport images on expired media

Hey,

We've been using NBU for a couple of years, using a 6 week rotation plus month-end backups that have a 1 year retention.  Each quarterly month-end, we pull out backups for long-term storage (beyond a year).

We discovered, awhile back, that our quarterly sets were only on the 1 year retention.  The media has since 'expired' and been moved back to Scratch media.  The tapes however, are still out of our rotation and going to be kept that way.  We'd like to clean it up so that the media is not only removed from our Scratch pool, but the images are cataloged and can be viewed in the restore tool.

So the question is, how do I get those images on expired media catalogued again and reset with an infinite expiry?  We're looking at 100 to 150 media.

Thanks,
Jordan

First you'd have to Import the images which requires mounting and reading each tape.
See the manual for bpimport command or GUI method.

Thanks for the input.  Looks like that's exactly what I need.  Now it will just be a matter of getting time to do it.
