Reinstall Operation System on the media server

Hi all,

In work media server Netbackup 8.1.1 with Media Server Deduplication Pool, OPS Center.

I plan to reinstall the operating system from Windows 2008 to Windows 2016.

How to reinstall Netbackup media server?

Is necessary to ensure the availability of backup images stored on MSDP.

How to save OPS Center settings?

IP address, server name, will remain the same.

As a basis, i used the Veritas tehnical document:

For the period of installation of the task, taking into account the features, it is planned to conduct other activities: transferring scripts ....

@AndriiPushkarov

Thanks.

PLEASE come back and share your experience once you have completed this task, as the article only mentions BasicDisk and AdvancedDisk, not MSDP.

My theory has always been that this should work for MSDP as well, but nobody has actually came back and said that it has worked for them.

Re: Reinstall Operation System on the media server

We completed the installation of the operating system in such a sequence.
Redirected backup to another MSDP
On the main MSDP did:
Expire the backup images (do not delete the images)
Delete the disk pool
Delete the deduplication storage server
Save Ops Center database
Next up is installing Windows Server 2016, Netbackup, Ops Center ... Import images
