I am backing up a remote NAS that does not have the NB Client installed. I am using a UNC pathname to specify what directory should be backed up. Is there a way to get a diferential incremental backup of this directory? Right now every backup I make of the directory gets every file including unchanged files.

Hello.
Is write access from NB client restricted? By default, NetBackup for Windows detects files to backup with archive bit. But if it is unable to clear archive bit somehow, differencial backup take files every time.
You can change rule to defect incremental files. Check "Incrmentals Based on Timestamp" in System Administrator's Guide. And also check "Time Overlap" before you change settings.

I tried the suggestion to go to timestamps but have had no success.
