Please make sure tape you want to remove doesnt have any important backup image.
After this confirmation expire your media, it will delete backup image information from netbackup catalog.
bpexpdate -m media_id -d date | 0

Last step you have to insert your media in library or tape drive drive and erase youre tape media.

Firstly, expire all backups on the tape - only if you are 100% sure that you won't need to restore from this tape:
bpexpdate -m <media-id> -d 0
After this, you can select the media in the GUI, right-click and select 'Label', 'Quick Erase' or 'Erase'. If media is in the robot, it will be mounted. Any of these options will effectively wipe data from the tape.

...I believe Marianne answered this question first and so should either get the full solution, or at least a split solution!
