Replace existing NetBackup Master/Media Server with new Server

Hi,

I have a NetBackup Master/Media server running - NetBackup 6.5.4
The Server hardware is old and need to be decommissioned, this server is used for performing restores only.
Details of the netbackup server:
1. NetBackup installed on D:\ (local disk)
2. NetBackup images stored on Z:\ (iSCSI LUN)
I have performed online hot catalog backup of server.

What is the procedure that i shall follow to decommission the old server. The new server should be able to recognize all media and policies.

With the same hostname, NBU and patch version and disk layout.
Perform catalog recovery.

The present server is running with WIn2k3 Std. edition SP1
and the new server has Win2k3 Std. edition SP2

Is this compatible?

Also, do i need to assign the same IP address to the new server?

Untili it's a W2K3 it should not be a problem.

You have to keep the same host name, not the IP address. Update your DNS to point new IP to old hostname if you want to change it.
