Hi,
I can't figure what is wrong, so here is the situation:
I want to backup AD option and (if it is necessary) restore single object with netbackup -> GRT
So, requirements http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO34116
-checked, ok
Create policy http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO34110#v20613422
- ok
--> I run backup of system state --> Backup was successful
But when I want to restore test-object I can't expand Active directory node. Also, there is disabled(greyed) all checkboxes(without system state).
I re-checked all requirements (NFS, Netbackup client service run as domain admin, etc). But still can't find where could be a problem.
Thx for ideas

I forgot, log say, that GRT backup was ok:
2.11.2011 11:46:57 - Info bpbrm(pid=1272) from client my-dc: TRV - Successfully finished granular backup processing for (System State\Active Directory).

What NBU version & OS you are using on Master & client ?
11-03-2011 07:03 AM
Netbackup 7.1, all servers are win 2008r2
11-03-2011 08:24 AM
I found error:
requestor my-dc is not a valid server for query 223
I followed suggestion from: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/cannot-connect-socket-error-when-user-starts-user-gui
Checked names and DNS, verify in Host Properties -> Master Server -> Client Properties that 'Allow client browse and restore'.
Nothing helped :(

Where are you running the BAR GUI from?
If from a remote admin console make sure the PC it is being run from is included in the my-dc's NetBackup Servers list

BAR console is running locally from my-dc.

Still the same :(
I will look closely to the logs next week.

Backup is stored on disk.

Can you confirm that the NetBackup Client Service and NetBackup Legacy Client Service on the AD Controller is running as a full AD administrator account?
Also, have you applied this:
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH156114
Which relates to this tech note about AD GRT information not being populated:
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH135253
If you post any information from your logs then we can dig deeper
Hope this helps

Good stuff - probably that hotfix then that would have been included in 7.1.0.2
