The distributed application mapping is designed for 2010 but in view of your setup it may not hurt to do it anyway
Go to the Master Servers Host properties - Distributed Application Restore Mappings
You will need to add a few entries here so that the SRV0000 is mapped to the mailbox severs and CAS Servers - so all down the left hand side is SRV00000 and on the right is everything else
03-26-2012 07:35 PM
May I know if you're using Puredisk(MediaID=@aaaa1) to backup your Exchange mailbox?
Also, please provide info of the following:
>Master Server OS
>Master Server NBU version
>Client OS
>Client Exchange version
>Client NBU version

I am curious about the UNC path in restore destination:
ERR - unable to create object for restore: \\server\Mi.......
Please tell us what exactly was specified/selected in the final restore screen?
Have you had a look at the NBU for Exchange regarding requirements for mailbox / mail item restore? For example:
■ The destination mailbox must exist to successfully restore a mailbox.
And a bit further:
About redirecting a restore of mailbox or public folder objects to a different path

I see you are redirecting this restore - could you answer the following please:
1. please provide the original and reditected paths
2. Where are you running this from
3. Are you using a proxy restore host
4. please setup the tar log folder on the exchange server, re-run the restore and provide the log
5, Try running it on the client itself
03-27-2012 11:14 AM
1 - I'm not redirecting the restore. The customer who backed up is the same as is being done to restore.
2 - I ran the restore client that was backed up and the same error occurred.
3 - I'm not using a proxy to restore.
4 - I came to create the folder but there was no tar file write.
5 - Did not work. The same error
Do not know why it's going to \ \ server \ Microsoft ....
Thanks for the help!

Thank you for confirmation of redirected restore.
As per my previous post, please review requirements and path specification for redirected restore in NBU for Exchange Server Admin Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3669 on p. 176 & 177.
The scrren shot does not show the full path that you have specified, but if we look at the job details, it is unclear where 'SG_CCDAC_4\AC_M2' fits into the picture.
Please compare with examples and explanation in the manual and confirm that all requirements are met.
03-28-2012 03:43 AM
Your screen shot shows that you have selected to restore it to an alternate location.
Ensure that the source and destination client are the same and that you select the "Restore to original location" check box at the top of the options screen.
03-28-2012 05:53 AM
The full path specified is:
"Microsoft Information Store:\SG_CCDAC_4\AC_M2\Márcio Gomes de Almeida Filho [marciogomes]\Top of Information Store\Caixa de entrada\"
The Job Details shows:

Hi, for help:
CLUSTER: SRV0000
VIRTUAL: SRV0001 - NODE SRV0004
VIRTUAL: SRV0002 - NODE SRV0005
VIRTUAL: SRV0003 - NODE SRV0006
OWA/HUB/CAS 1 - SRV0007
OWA/HUB/CAS 2 - SRV0008
OWA/HUB/CAS 3 - SRV0009
The backup is done to SRV0001.
The restore is done to SRV0001.
03-28-2012 06:46 AM
That is quite an Exchange 2007 setup - usually only see that on Exchange 2010.
Based on that it is worth setting it up as per 2010 - so make sure that all of the CAS and Mailbox servers have their NetBackup Legacy Network Service set to use the exchange account required for individual message backups / restores - without that the path is not always found
03-28-2012 10:48 AM
As proposed, I put the same account of the netbackup client service on the NetBackup Legacy Network Service and still failed backups.
There is an option in the master server host properties regarding "Restore Distributed Application Mapping". Where should I add some information?
03-28-2012 11:18 PM
Have you tried looking into this document?
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH66342
also, please verify on your backup policy>attributes> if "enable granular recovery" is enabled.
Thanks,
03-29-2012 01:10 AM
Couple of TN's that describes your error:
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH164954
03-29-2012 04:51 AM
Yes. The "Enable Granular Recovery" is enable.
Thanks

The distributed application mapping is designed for 2010 but in view of your setup it may not hurt to do it anyway
Go to the Master Servers Host properties - Distributed Application Restore Mappings
You will need to add a few entries here so that the SRV0000 is mapped to the mailbox severs and CAS Servers - so all down the left hand side is SRV00000 and on the right is everything else

Hi all,
seems we got the same problem and I still couldn't solve it.
We have Exchange 2016 DAG, its name is dag01. DAG consists of 2 nodes - mail01 and mail02 which are Hyper-V virtual machines.
the master server and clients are NBU 9.0.0.1
All servers use Windows Server 2016 Standard
Distributed Application Restore Mappings is:
App host Component host
dag01 mail01.domain.com
dag01 mail02.domain.com
Trying to restore a single mail from GRT full backup to the original location I got the error:
