Dear All
I have a Master Server with solaris 10 OS and Netbackup 7.6.1
The media server and the client are the same master server
My question is split into two parts
First Part:
I'm using the Oracle Intelligent Policy
First I would like to mention that restore operation from the GUI Netbackup doesn't restore control files , It only can restore datafiles , Archivelogs , tablespaces , but when it comes to control file I use the rman command line
Where can I raise such issue ,so they can develop it in the next versions?
Second Part :
I used a recovery catalog so when I try to initiate the restore operation it's not initiated ?
I go to the restore prompt and fill all the requirements and all boxes but at the end it says that the restore operation was initiated successfully , however this is not true as I can't see anything in the activity monitor or in the task progress tab
Thanks in advance

Ok, do you have a RMAN catalog database set up in the environment? If so, have you configured it whilst registering the database.
I suspect you don't have one and the default is then for rman to write to the control file. And since its working you know that the control file was used to record previous backups.

Hi,
Q1. You can create an idea here on the connect forum and stage what enhancement you would like to see. Or you could talk to product management.
Q2. Please post what you're referring to as its not clear what the issue is. What commands are you issuing?

Thanks for your answer for the Q1
For the second part I'm not using commands I'm using the GUI when you go to Backup, Archive & Restore
then select the client, the master server , the destination
then it lists the backed up files
then I choose the whole database and click on Restore on the right down corner then compelete the steps and go through the restore prompts until I select finish to start the restore operation and it really says
Restore operation has successfully been initiated do you want to follow the task
I click yes then go to the task tab to find nothing is running :D
However it succeeds when I don't choose the option to restore from Recovery catalog
