Restore SQL Server from Tape Backup

Hi guys,

I have to admit that I am very new for all the Netbackup things.

Briefly....

I have 2 NBU server which are not in the same cluster.

NBU1 is DC site , NBU is DR site. I have to get the tape backup from NBU1 to restore at NBU2.

I have done the Phase 1, Phase 2 import and restore perfectly on VMware.

But the problem I am facing right now is how to restore SQL server from data imported NBU2 to the new virtual machine.(Windows Server 2012)

Netbackup is 7.6.1

I create a new virtual machine and already installed SQL Server, MS SQL Client, grant permission for user.

Thanks in advance. I am very desparate.......

Have you given the new SQL client access to the original SQL client's backups in in altnames on the master server ?

When that is done and Netbackup SQL agent is configured on the new SQL client, you should be able to see and restore the SQL databases.

Look at the alternate client technotes.

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue

Hi,

Did you already make alternate restore on NBU2 site? If not, maybe this TN can help you.

https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TEC

I you already made, please share us more informations.

Client Source & Client Destination have the same O.S version?

Client Source & Client Destination have the same SQL Server version?\

Client Source & Client Destination have the same NBU version?

You said that was trying to restore data imported NBU2 to new VM Windows 2012, but the Netbackup 7.6.1 is not supported on this version. If possible send us the error logs.
