Restore an expired backup file from tape

Hello All,

I heard that we can able to restore a file from tape if that tape is not overwritten even if the backup image got expired. But since the backup got expired I am not able to view the job id details, hence having issue in finding the backupid's and tape number of that backup file written to.

So is there anyway to retrieve or find the tape id of a particular expired backup image and to restore the content if not overwritten?

If the (expired) backup was done less than 4 weeks ago, you can run All Log Entries report for the particular day and client. Default retention for reports is 28 days.

If more than 4 weeks, there is nothing left in NBU to know tape id.

Best to ensure that retentions are configured in line with business requirements.
