Hi,
I need your help in below described case:
- site A (Media Server W2k8+ Master Server for all sites :(
-clientA
- site B (Media Server RHEL 5.9 :(
-clientB
- site C (Media Server W2k8):
-clientC
NBU version is 7.6.0.1
I do backup on tapes job of clientB's data via media server in site B.
Now I need to restore clientB's data ane write to clientA via media server in site A.
What are the steps to avoid thru WAN restore...?
I found this article but guess it is dedicated for restore when image is not in EMM db?
Thanks

To restore from tape on another media server, change media ownership to site A media server:
bpimage -newserver <mediaA> -oldserver <mediaB> -id <media-id>

Yes, that article is correct. You need to import the image into the catalog of the target NetBackup domain. So, either physically transport a tape between sites, or use NetBackup to duplicate the backup image to a DSU storage unit on external physical USB hard drive and tranpsort that portable hard drive between sites - to avoid large file copying over a WAN.
.
Or, use some form of OST (perhaps MSDP) backup replication via NetBackup AIR:

Hmmm - I had made the assumption of different master servers at each site too.
If there is only one master server, and all media servers are members of that one NetBackup domain, then Marianne's post below is better - but you still have the issue of avoiding WAN load - in which case, physically transport the tape media from one one media server and tape library to another (assuming the tape technology is the same).
