When I launch a restore of one message, it doesn't work and I have the network error "1: (23) socket read failed" and after 15 minutes, another job appears with this error "1: (42) network read failed". This last job has a client that is my CAS.

I have increased the File browse  and the client read timeout for GRT restores to 900 seconds and i still facing the same issue.

NetBackup 7.5.0.6

Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise

Exchange DAG 2010

Thanks in advance

Netbackup should installed on All mail box servers are on DAG and Needs to be installed on CAS for restore.

Restore will not work if Netbackup didnt install on CAS.

■ The NetBackup client software is installed as follows:

■ In a non-VMware environment, on the computer that has the databases you want to back up.

Install the NetBackup client software on the computer that has the Exchange

Server, any off-host clients, and all CAS servers that are used for mailbox

databases. In an Exchange Server cluster, install the NetBackup client on

each node in the cluster.

■ In a VMware environment, the NetBackup client software must be installed

on the virtual machines that have Exchange running.

Could you please post more details like how you are performing restore?

Are you restoring to same exchange server?

did u create RDB?

I am in DAG configuration. i have 4 exchange 2010 servers.

I've backuped the 4 DAG well.

I am trying to restore an email from a mailbox on the same exchange server.

I don't create RDB because it is not a redirected restore.

Hope i've answered to your question

1) does the restore ever worked fine?

2) post the detail status of the both jobs one with DAG name and another with CAS name...?

Can you please verify whether NetBackup Client software is installed on all Client Access Servers (CAS)in the Database Availability Group farm and ald also communication with CAS?

Our CAS are virtual Roles that are added to the DAG Server. So we don't have NetBackup Client Software installed on CAS.

1) Restore doesn't ever worked

2) Detail status:

DAG: 25/10/2013 09:41:52 - begin Restore

         25/10/2013 09:41:56 - Info bprd(pid=9608) starting BPRESOLVER
         25/10/2013 09:41:58 - Info bprd(pid=9608) BPRESOLVER has executed on server (SRVEXCH3)
         25/10/2013 09:42:37 - end Restore; elapsed time: 00:00:45
         socket read failed(23)

CAS: 25/10/2013 09:54:28 - begin Restore
         25/10/2013 09:58:05 - end Restore; elapsed time: 00:03:37
         network read failed(42)
