Restore of data

Hi Guys,

We got a restore request for one of the client, where she wants an entire directory to be backed up. The date mentioned is of 10 DEC, but when we checked it in the schedules we found out that there was no full backup taken in that place, instead of that we are getting cumulative and differential. Can you please help me on getting some of the reports;

1) As this particular server is moving on tapes, how to check on which tapes has the backups been written.

2) And also, what kind of backups has been written to the tapes related to this client.

Please giude me on this. Thanks in advance.

1) just go ahead and select the folder in the given date range in the backup , archive and retsore windows and click on Priview button.. it will list the Tape IDs that are holding the Data

go though the below guide if you find any deficulty to get it...

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC5146

2) you can see the same in the image selection in the backup archive restore when you select the date range.. it will show you the type of backup avaliable at the selected date ,weather its full or Incr.

again above guide will help you..

If you are using netbackup OpsCenter you can also try and pull reports for the particular client. The report will list all the details like the media ids used, the policy, etc.
