Restore was successfully completed(0) – no files restored

HI
Netbackup 6.5.2a running on Win.2003-R2 server.

I try to restore plain files  – to a different client
a shared SMB folder on a Qnap-NAS Box (formatted with EXT4) on my network.
I get:
the requested operation was successfully completed(0)
I even see the number of files & kilobytes written - but no (0) files is restored .

I’ve used the restore option to:
 “Restore everything to a different location”
and then via the browser pointed out the \\servername\restorefolder
From my Netbackup server however can I browse to the \\servername\restorefolder
And write to it (I guess it not a permission issue then ?)

If using the gui BAR - and you go to view and look at that job -
what details does that give?

It does not show any sign of errors.

If I go to "All Log Entries" and find the job it saying:
Successfully restored from backup id xxx copy1, 11179776 kbytes
Successfully restored 1 of 1 requests, read total of 11179773 Kbytes.....

Is there a logfile containing the real destination path or IP of the restore ?

Or could it be my "policy type for restores" - I assume it should be "standard" ?,
as the files came from a OSX server (before written to tape.)

On the server you did the restore from.....

install path/netbackup/logs/user_ops/name of user who did the restore/logs

find the file with the date and time that you did the restore.

This log will have a lot of info as to what the restore did.

Please find corresponding section in bprd log file on your master server and post contents:

As well as the restore log as per Judy's request.

it looks fine - except for the bold line -it  seems to appear every time a directory is created....

It may be syntax

So you have a windows master

When you change the Restore to another location.....

you say you browse to the other server making that line look wrong to me.

In the BAR you should have already chosen your server for destination ( that will show on the top frame of the BAR.

Now just change that line  and have it without the server name

So what was

F:\folder\

change to

E:\restore\

where E is the correct drive that the restore folder resides on.

I appreciate your time solving this,
My bprd log folder is empty - but the bprd demon is running.
I've never needed those logfiles before - so the case might be the log files where never created..

browse_client = OldServer
requesting_client = BackupServer
destination_client = OldServer
requesting_client_hostname = BackupServer
destination_client_hostname = OldServer
requesting_user = root
requesting_group = root
progress_file = /C/ProgramFiles/Veritas/NetBackup/logs/user_ops/comma000/logs/NBWIN007
rename_file = /C/ProgramFiles/Veritas/NetBackup/logs/ALTPATH/ALTPATH.017

Oldserver=original server - I would have expected "newserver" (my Nas device).
Somehow Netbackup flushes the restore and 'think' its done successfully as the files are NOT restored
(even not to OldServer)

I will try to change my dest. path as Judy wrote .

I restored everything to a share on my backup server - and are moving the files to my NAS from there..

Can you not map the share as a local drive letter and restore to that?
Check that the NetBackup Client service is started as a user with write permission to the network drive.
Also ensure that you have a tar log directory on 'destination_client'.
