The Oracle dba can use rman from command line or customize the sample restore script.

There are 6 sample restore files.
The Oracle DBA can issue rman restore commands or else have a look at the sample files and decide which of these he/she wants to customize.

Please help me to understand what this means?

" .... we are backing up through Oracle Intelligent policy to the same system and to a different system. "

What different system are you backing up to?
Another media server or another master server?

Or do you mean restore to another system?

To restore to another system, you need to read up in NetBackup for Oracle Administrator's Guide     :  Redirecting a restore to a different client

Restore via rman is the only way to restore. Whether you use Intelligent Policy or old-fasioned script-based backups.

Please see the documentation for redirected restore instructions.
