Hi All

Is it possible to restore a file backed up on a windows/linux physical machine to a VMware virtual machine with the Same OS (windows/linux)

Can somebody point me to the relevant documentation if it is please.

Note these are not baremetal backups

Regards

Charit

There is no such documentation.

It simply works like any other normal file-level restore.

Important that NBU client is installed on the VM.
(This part is documented in NBU for VMware Admin Guide.)

Select the physical client as source client and the VM as destination client.
The restore process is now treated as any normal file-level restore with comms (port connectivity and forward/reverse name lookup) needed between media server and VM client.
