Restoring in netbackup

Hello. Does any one know how to calculate or know the size of folder or file that are selected in BAR when performing restore. This i want to in order to intimate the customer the size of files that will be restore into his machine so that he/she will make adequate space provision. Thank you

You could try using bplist?

 

bplist -B -C <clientname>  -k <policyname> -l -s 09/24/2012 00:00:00 -e 09/24/2012 09:00:00 -R 999 /<directory>
 
use -t if you need to select a different policy type other than standard then reference the NetBackup commands guide for further options: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC5182 (page 203)

Revaroo, can this command be ran on windows master or media server? by opening cmd interface. Also, is there a way this could be gotten via netbackup GUI? Thank you.

Yes it can be ran on the cmd prompt. Not sure there is a way in the GUI, if there is it would be via the BAR section of the GUI, but I don't recall it for a section of a backup
