Our storage device is syncing disk backup files to remote location for DR. i.e. all *.info files are *.img files are available in DR location as well. I have been told to verify if I can successfully do a small test to make sure that the backups available at DR are good/not corrupt. Below are my questions and assumptions.
1. We are running NetBackup 6.5.5 (Yeah its old) on Redhat.
2. If I can copy one .img file and .info file from DR to local location, provided we have not encrypted data, can I use command line to attempt a restore of any random file? If yes, can some one point me to correct command and syntax?
3. If command line doesnt work, can I re-catalog copied .img file to reveal the list of files it got and attemp a resore through NetBackup GUI?
4. Anything else you geniuses can think of to achieve this?
Thank you for your time.

Thank you mnolan. I have reached office and I am gonna try you suggestion. Couple of questions/assumptions.
I may create a script to consolidate the entire operation. i.e. copy random .img file from DR, import it to NetBackup using your very useful guide and do a restore. Now can you also point me to a guide which explains command line restorations? I am assuming bprestore should do. Appreciate your time.

Before you try bprestore - be sure you can browse/list images for imported clients.
Important information you need to have before you try to browse or restore:
If you check the import logs, you should be able to find above info.
