"Server Status:  no schedules of the correct type exist in this policy"

Please post your policy config. On your master, run:

bppllist RMAN-TEST -U

Ensure that you have 2 schedules in your policy: Automatic Full Backup as well as Default-Application-Backup schedule.

Automatic Full Backup schedule will simply determine when the scheduler on the master will kick off the script on the client.
The actual backup that is started by the script on the client now needs a Default-Application-Backup schedule with an open window. The default in NBU is to have this schedule open 24x7. Best to leave it this way.

actually the backup went fine but one thing that the main job report failure with status 6 but actually the backup finished

it says "the backup failed to back up the requested files  (6)"

Something is still failing.

Probably the Archive Logs at the end of the backup?

Check RMAN out-file.

Also create dbclient log folder on the client:

# mkdir /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/dbclient
# chmod 777 dbclient

Post dbclient log after next failure as well as RMAN out-file.

why is that?

Hi Mjalil, please verify your RMAN script, if backup works fine from the beginning and fails in the end. Please check the child job details, file list if "/db" and "/arch" jobs is done. If your missing "/arch" file list on the child job, maybe archivelogs backup portion causes the error. Please verify if there is archivelogs to be backup.

PLEASE tell your DBA's to stop deleting/moving, doing WHATEVER they do with the Archive logs.

Rman now needs to take care of them - backup, then delete.

Get your dba to do

change archivelog all crosscheck;

 before trying another backup.

See http://www.shutdownabort.com/errors/RMAN-06059.php

You will need to find out from Oracle point of view, since the error is produced by Oracle.

There are a number of Oracle online docs as well as Oracle/Rman forums.

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/backup.111/b28270/rcmmaint.htm

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96566/rcmconc3.htm

From NBU point of view there is nothing that can be done - NBU is merely reporting the failure reported by Oracle/RMAN.
