Hi Team,
We have NBU master server running on win 2008 Enterprise on NBU version 7.6.0.3.
We have two SL8500 tape libraries with one robot in each.
When I try to configure the drives using device config wizard the NBU is detecting some times 5 robots and some times 6 robots.
The ACSLS is hosted on standalone solaris machines.
Please help.

"I had tried and it configures the drives to different robots"
If the drives are in different robots this is perfectly OK, why do you reconfigure them manual ?
What makes you believe the wizard is wrong ?
Is it because tape drives are put in standalone section ?

One SL8500 logical consist of 4 LSM. Each robot hand (aka rail) is a LSM or robot.
Any hard partitions in use ?
You may also consider to implement ACSLS volume access control to avoid tapes are overwritten by other application also accessing the SL8500.

I use volume access control in house - works excellent and provided an extra layer of security.

Hi All,
The multiple robots are shown in netbackup device config wizrad.
Please check the attached images.
There is no partioning of libraries.

You have 2 ACSLS hosts right ?
Any hard robot partitions in use ?
As each SL85000 has 4 LSM, you should be able to see 8 LSM across two SL8500.
42 tape drives is not an error as each SL8500 can hold up to 64 tape drives.
From the ACSLS console(s) run the following command and show us the result:
q acs all
q lsm all
q drive all

Hi All,
There is no hard partitioning in place.

What is shown in the next screen after that message (42 tape drive paths and 6 robots)?
What does 'scan' on the media server see?

You should be able to see 8 robot (LSM's) from the configuration wizard.
Its rather strange if you don't. ACSLS configuration is straight forward and solid
Could you try to run the command
q lmu all
on the two ACSLS hosts ?. This is to verify there are no logical partitions - had to look in the manual

Scan output looks good. tape drives only as we expected.
Have you tried to move to the next step in the wizard?
I would like to see what is displayed as far as the robots and drives are concerned.

Hi Marianne,
I had tried and it configures the drives to different robots, then I had manually chnaged setting on each drive.
Please advice.
Regards,Bshet.

Can you not take a screenshot of the next screen without actually completing the config?
