Hi all,
I have read a lot of threads about this, but i can´t configure it.
I have a Netbackup Master Server 6.0 on windows 2000, it is configured to backup all the clients through the LAN. Now I need to backup some server over SAN in order to improve the performance and reduce the backup window, and I thing that the better option is to make these servers media servers.
In order to test this, I have made the following steps.
- Installed a Media Server on Windows Server 2003
- Zoning the Libraries to new server.
- Reconfigure the Libraries on netbackup master server.
Then i have tried to backup the new Media server but in the log I can see that the media server that has been used is the old one(Master Server)
Thank You.

Did you create new storage units and enter them into the backup policy?

OK, I forgot it, now is working fine.
How can I know if the new media server is using the Fibre instead of the LAN??
Thank You Bob, you are a Crack!!

You can tell if the backups are using the SAN by the storage unit used to do the backup. The storage unit will be controlled by the Media server - in your case, the windows media server you configured the tape drives for will be used for the backup.
