If you want to do it for AIX, I don't understand the reference to VM's in your opening post?

SAN Client needs FT media server.
Only Linux and Solaris SPARC media servers are supported as FT media servers.
Not possible for Windows media server.

See HCL: http://www.veritas.com/docs/000025228

You want to configure a VM as SAN client?
Not sure if this is possible.

Why not simply configure normal VM backups with SAN transport?

So, where does AIX fit in the picture?

Windows media server is not supported as FT media server.

Even if you have a Linux media server that is configured as FT media server, I don't believe that VMs are supported as SAN clients. If it was, it would be documented in Compatibility Lists and Admin Guides.

NetBackup for VMware Administrator's Guide  recommends that RDMs be backed up using Snapshot Client - which is totally different to SAN Client.
