SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS / NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS and shared memory

Hi I just wanted to get a quick sanity check to make sure I've calculated everything right here.  I've read up on the netbackup documentation for setting these values and think I understand how they should be set but wanted to see if these settings make sense to everyone else here.

size data buffers = 262144
number data buffers = 16
# of drives = 3
MPX per drive = 4

If my calculation are correct based on these numbers shmsys:shminfo_shmmax in /etc/system needs to be at least
16 (Data Buffers) X 262144 (Bytes per buffer) X 4 (streams per drive) X 3 (drives per media server) = 50331648

Am I understanding the application of these parameters correctly?  Do most people run 16 data buffers for LTO2 drives or have you found that 32 increases performance?  If I do increase the number of data buffers to 32 wouldn't I need to increase shared memory to at least 100663296?
