Scheduled image cleanup not running for tape backups

Hi,

Master  - Suse Linux 11 SP3 ,Netbackup 7.5.0.5

We are facing a issue with image cleanup job not running automatically for tape backups and due to this the catalog disk is gettign filled up. It completes fine if we run it manually using bpimage -cleanup -allclients and deletes expired records to free up space .

Also as the image clean up job does not start so does not see any indication of it in Admin log .For disk based backups to Advance disk and MSDP the image cleaup is running fine .

I am not able to recall a switch in nbpemreq command using which you can check that when the next image cleaup is scheduled to run .It generally runs after 12 hours which is mentioned in host properties but not  running at the moment

Please if anybody can suggest where we can check in to troubleshoot the issue ....?

bpconfig -U shows the catalog cleanup time and wait time

There is mention that it does not run during catalog backups so if your catalog backup is very long or maybe there is a hung one then perhaps that is stopping it working

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the quick turnaround .We have below settings 

Image DB Cleanup Interval:    12 hours

Image DB Cleanup Wait Time:   60 minutes

Our catalog size is around 2.6 TB and full backups takes around 18 hrs to complete whereas incremtnal take around 5-6 hours and more if drives are not available .So seems it could be the issue as our Full catalog backup was terminated yesterday at 2 pm after running 14 hours and got completed today 

after running 18 hours in the 2nd attempt. 

Last manual image cleaup for tape ran at 4 pm - 9 pm yesterday and today's clean up job should

have run around 4am but due to catalog job running it dint initiate .Also after Full catalog job another

incremtnal job got started which ended just now. 

So lets see if it tries to run image cleanup again at 4 pm which is 2.5 hrs from now .

Also i dont remember now bt using nbpemreq we can see when the next image cleanup is scheduled.
