Setting drive persistance in Windows 2003/2008

I am looking for a detailed process on how to set device (Tape drive & Mediaum changer) persistance in Windows 2003/2008 server.

This depends on the HBAs you use and their drivers

For example qlogic have sansurfer software that is used to set it up, emulex have elxcfg plus hba anywhere to do it

See what HBAs you have and what software is loaded for them

As per Mark's excellent post, you need to find out what hba's you have in your media servers. Then go to the Support site for your hba and look for 'persistent binding' and management tools under the downloads section.
