Hello everyone, I am new in the Netbackup world. I am trying to est up a new windows server (2012) for the backup as a master.
Can you please shed some light on the use of VM Virtual Servers? I want to use tapes on the environment as opposed to disk.
Someone told me that virtual servers will not be supported, but is there a workaround for this?
I would appreciate any word from the experts here.

NetBackup Media Server using tape drives cannot be a virtual server. Clients certainly can be virtual, as well as NetBackup Master with no tape drives. If your Master is also a Media Server then it must be physical to support tape drives.

To attach a physical tape drive, the server has to be a physical one -- you cannot attach it to a VM
As an alternative you can have a VM master server and one physical media server which tape library attached to it.

NBJAVA_CORBA_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT=120
