Slow backup - 7.6.0.1 Windows 2008 R2

Recentyl backup started running much slower than it used to do.

I'm backuping redirected profiles and some shared documents.

Backup is running at 600KB/s while before it was going up to 4-5MB/s.

I tried to copy one folder cca 3GB to destination disk - and copy speed is around 6-7MB/s.

Backup was scheduled in different times of day, week - and result is the same. Tried

Client: Windows 2008 R2 Ent - cluster

Nodes: issue is the same regardless node we use

Roles and fetures installed: DHCP, File Server (no DFS, no DFSR)

Version: 7.6.0.1

Media server: Windows 2008 R2 Std

Version:7.6.0.1

Storage type: Basic disk

You mentioned you are backuping redirected profiles and some shared documents. How about the performance of local file system ?What i s the size of thisdata ?Is it backing up to local STU ?  Can you share job details to get more details on the process flow ? You can try bpbkar NULL test to gauge bpbkar performance .

How to benchmark the performance of the bpbkar32 process on a Windows client

I seem to recall there was a perf hit noted for incrementals and a fix released for same. Have a look on 7601 know problems. Obviously only sensibly applicable if youve upgraded.

Here are policy details. I've checked 7601 known issues - but nothing apply to this specific case.

Number of files that are backed up is around  900 000 with size od 435GB.

There are some policies with 250000files and 270GB size.

Attached are some job details, and policy info.

Thnx Deeps. That's great way to eliminate client side as problem.

I've made all NULL backup tests of bck selection folders and compared with the others that are not slow:

no sagnificant difference

Also tried copy data from source to destination disk location - speed is around 30MB/s and again compared with other non-slow in the same network segment - no sagnificant difference.

Does anyone have any idea?

Meanwhile - I'm moving to syntetic full backup - hope this inicial full will pass in next 5 days. fingers cross...

Comms in this thread seems to be few and far between...

Next thing to look at is buffer sizes.

Please ensure that bptm log folder exists on the media server.

Run a backup of the slow client, then copy bptm log to bptm.txt and upload here as File attachment.

If client is also a media server (backing up own data), you may want to look at this TN:
