Hello,
we are using Netbackup 8.2 in our environment. We have a server, where there is a drive, with a large number of files (the full backup fails at around 72 million files after about 217 hours) with media close error messages.
Is there a way to speed up the backups? The owner of the server says all these files are needed, and they change regularly, so we cannot exclude them, or assign a less frequent schedule.
Would it help to turn on the accelerator? I read, that helps only if there is not much change in the files, so it won't help in this case.

If there is a lot of change, enabling accelerator would not be a good idea. Is the server Windows or Linux? Physical or virtual? What is on the server, a specific application, if so could you tell us?

In NetBacup you have 3 options:
1) Use Accelerator
2) Use Flash backup (if you need individual file restore)
3) Use raw partition backup (if you don't need individual file restore)
