We Need to take backup of a Volume containing 30 snapshots.

Please let us know that the backup selection entry should be in which format :

/vol/VolumeName

Or

/vol/VolumeName/.snapshot/SnapshotName

While selecting “/vol/VolumeName”, the backups are failing with status 99.

So do we need to select each of those 30 snapshots in the format “/vol/VolumeName/.snapshot/SnapshotName” in order to take the backup.

from Symantec NetBackupfor NDMP Administrator's Guide

Required backup selections options for an NDMP policy

The backup selections list must specify directories from the perspective of the NDMP host.

Two examples:

  /home/dir1/

  /vol1

The following backup selections capabilities are NOT supported for an NDMP policy:

Wildcards in pathnames. For example, /home/* is an invalid entry.

Individual file names. Only directory or volume names are allowed.
