Snapshot and Storage Lifecycle Policy

Hi,

in the Problems Report I noticed these errors:

"snapshot backup: (image name) cannot be used with a lifcycle policy (SLP name) that does not include a snapshot destination"

It says the something is going wrong with the SLP.

It is a very simple SLP, with a backup and a duplication. In the source I use snapshots to make backups.

I'm confused bacause I can't figure out how to configure correctly the SLP.

Any help, suggestion or link to the right doc will be very appreciated.

Thanks.

Hmm, can't find much in the DB ....

If you configure a snapshot method for a policy, and the schedule specifies a lifecycle policy, the life cycle policy must include a snapshot destination. Otherwise, an error such as the following appears in the NetBackup Problems report:

snapshot backup: tashina11_1204305543 cannot be used with a
lifecycle policy NoSnapshot that does not include a snapshot
    destination.

Please help us to see what you see...

Please post a screenshot of the SLP as well as the policy giving error:
bppllist <policy_name> -L

Thanks for your answers.

I think that I've found the problem: I had the flag "Retain snapshot for Instant Recovery or SLP management" checked.

Unchecking that should solve the issue.

Thanks again.
