Along with Hot Catalog backup, copy the DR-file to your laptop or another location on the network.

Oh! And make a note of exact NBU version/patch level (check /usr/openv/netbackup/version).
You can only recover the catalog if NBU version is exactly the same.

there is a posibility that master server may go down

did you see any symptoms for it? or same acitivy on the other server did the server down previously?

what is the backupout plan that your OS team is providing..?

you need to make sure you  have below tasks done before acitivity.

1) take the full catalog backup

2) take the Full OS backup

3) if possible get the OS LUNs cloned for safer side...

if the server goes down.. that is the responsiblity of the OS team to bring it back.you do not need to take that pain..

We are facing console issues, due to which server team plan to do a online activity with oracle. If something goes wrong then they will restart the server. As this a very old server(hardware) we guess that this server may not come up.

As you said they are responsible to bring the server up, if they couldn't make it up, they will allocate a new server. Then it's backup team responsibility to take farward.

So let me know what are all the safety measures i need to do from backup side in this senario. Thanks.
