Solution for Configuring Oracle RAC backups

Hi All,

Can anybody help me give a solution for Oracle RAC backups

and a solution for Configuring Oracle RAC backups

The steps are in the Admin Guide posted above. 
Policy config is covered earlier in the manual.
See those steps as 'recommended best practice'.

The retention level that you select for Application Backup schedule will be the retention level used for actual child streams - same as for normal Oracle backups (explained in NBU for Oracle Admin Guide).

If you want different retentions for Daily, Weekly, Monthly, etc, create different policies or else different Application Backup schedules (each with different name) and then hard-code the policy and schedule name in the script(s).

Hello Marianne,

Apendix is there, but i rely on something which is best practise, and the steps to be used for configured ORACLE RAC backups.

 

also to manage retention which are managed by application level for different retention level

do we need to have a seperate policy or schedule to manage those backups

Make sure policy retention is set higher then RMAN level retention
