We are rolling out NetBack Up 7.6.0.1 this week, and am looking for detailed instructions on how to install the NBU 7.6.0.1 client on 64-bit Linux targets (specifically RedHat version 5.9; kernel 2.6.18-348.6.1). Can anyone point me in the right direction to find specifics on where to download and install the appropriate Linux agent?

you can get the base client software from fileconnect.symantec.com

and it requried the serail number to get in.

once the log in to the fileconnect, go ahead and download the base client software and get it installed.

So will running the ./install script from the root of the NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS2 tarball, automatically detect that I'm running CentOS, rather than RedHat?

CentOS is binary compatible with its upstream source, RHEL. So when you install it will act as if your installing on RHEL client. You should have no issues.

I thought you said specifically RedHat version 5.9 in your opening post?

Well, the same installation files will work for RedHat and CentOS.
