Hi all,
We have clients which are part of two policies. Policy A and Policy B.
If schedule in policy A is running, I don't want schedule in policy B to run.
Is there any way I can setup Netbackup to check for these conditions?

schedule both the policies in different time as per the expected time.
If you cannot change the schedule time for the policies we can have another option available in master server-- properties--client attributes -- choose the client -- set it as max data streams as 1
With this though the server in two policies it will make sure only one stream will be actively running. Hope this will help.

You will need to use an external scheduler to do this.
You can script the external scheduler to check if policy A is running before starting policy B.
From NBU point of view - schedule different backup windows.

You can't do "nested" policies in Netbackup. Only thing to do is difference in schedule time or as Ashok suggest setting "max job per client" to 1.
But you should not have concerns of running multiple jobs per client - they usually handle that very well.
