Status 24

hi guys,

all of a sudden i started getting status 24 on my backups.  can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Status 24's can be straight forward or pretty tricky.  I would start by looking at the detailed status of the failed job to see if you can determine which daemon/service generated the status 24 error. 

How far along does the job get before it fails?  Is communication established with the client when it fails?  Or does it fail trying to communicate with the client?

If you can tell check the log for the daemon/service for the details of the status 24 error and post those errors here.

in the detailed status, this is what i see:

Error bpbrm(pid=3388) could not send server status message      
8/28/2009 11:55:37 AM - end writing; write time: 00:01:04
socket write failed(24)

the job runs for 7 min and then i get this message.

Check the bpcd log on the client side, and see if the media/master server ever establishes communincation with the client . 

I would also advise you perform the  "Resolving network communication problems" from the Troubleshooting Guide.
